ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary), is a water based preservative that has been commercially used since 1991. ACQ is the leading time tested substitute for CCA. It is used in residential and domestic construction in all countries that placed restrictions on CCA. ACQ has high levels of copper and requires the use of hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel fasteners.
